About

Who am I?
Kaydalia. Kay. Drake. A combo. Whatever. I go by many names....
hehe. I'm 20 years old, unless you see me at a bar - then I'm 21. I live
in upstate in NY. I was majoring in Bio/Pre-med at Johns Hopkins, but I'm
transferring schools and changing majors. Not sure to what exactly yet...
perhaps something in web design or video editing or..... wine drinking. Anyhoo,
I play numerous sports.... Soccer, volleyball, softball... I also do some
indoor rock climbing, horsebackriding, skiing, and kneeboarding for fun. I
obviously worship BtVS as my favorite all time show. AtS, a close second.
I also enjoy West Wing, Scrubs, Sport Night (now canceled), MASH, and I have
a copy of the unaired pilot for Joan of Arcadia - which I very much enjoyed.
Plus, Tru Calling is something I'll definately check out. As for music, I
love Evanescence, Matchbox 20, Chantal Kreviazuk, eastmountainsouth, and many
many random bands/artists; not to mention that obvious fact that I really
love instrumental stuff.. I absolutely adore animals. Over the years I've
had 3 dogs, a cat, 3 horses, 2 bunnies, 2 guinea pigs and 2 hamsters. Currently
- My brother has a dog, we have a family dog, and I have a bunny (Lucas, who
is insane... but adorable).
I rate alcohol as a good, cept for beer. Hate beer. I'm freakishly good with
guns (was a part of Army ROTC for a few semesters), and love Harry Potter.
I have two older brothers, who inspite of beating me senseless as a child,
are very good people. My mother is an extremely cute third grade teacher,
and my father does some kind of property work that I neither understand nor
care to learn about.
I'm a laptop baby. My comp goes everywhere *pats Dell lovingly*. Speaking
of - I've been to England (for the record - London rocks), France (twice actually),
Canada, and many states east of Alabama. Would love to go to the west coast
some day.
So... uh, yea... what else could you possibly want to know? I mean, not that
you even wanted to know all that - but there ya go.
How/When did I start Vidding?
Late April of 2003 I downloaded my software through a bittorrent
server. Made my first vid (S7 preview) within a few days and went from there.
I'm hooked. I love it. If you're even vaguely interested - give it a whirl.
Good times to be had. I downloaded and enjoyed music and preview vids (BtVS
related) for over a year before I finally got the software to do it myself.
It wasn't a sudden interest.... I had been longing to do this for quite a
while. Making my first vid was a release... finally getting an idea out there.
And I haven't been able to stop since. :-D
What software do I use?
Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7 for my vids. I cut up episodes into clips
with Ulead VideoStudio 7.
Where do I get my music/clips?
Bittorrent is my savior. As is Kazaa Lite. The clips I cut myself,
from downloaded eps. Bittorrent is perfect for new episodes. Just use google
to find sites, its a great source for downloading.. not only TV shows, but
music, movies, software, games, ect. Kazaa is great for older eps and music.
Most of the prevew music I use is from movie scores. Hans Zimmer, Craig Armstrong,
Graeme Revell, John Williams, Robert Duncan (who scored S7 of BtVS), Randy
Edelman, Trevor Rabin and Thomas Newman. I cannot promote enough E.S.
Posthumus. Buy their CD. Its amazing, and you'll recognize their music
from movie trailers. They're friggin' amazing, I adore them. All my vid details
(next to the download link) have the info about the vid... what song I use,
the file size/length.... However, if there's a song you cannot find, contact
me, and I'll either give you a tip or set something up (*not* on this
site though). For the record... some of the music I use is not commercially
available. If you can't find it on Kazaa, I'll help you out whenever possible.
Do I take requests?
Yes. But.... and there's always a but, I cannot say how long it
will be til they are put up. In fact, I can't even guarantee that I'll make
them.... but I'm always willing to hear idea. Dante's Prayer was a suggested
vid which I was more than happy to bring to life. The only reason why I don't
make every single vid I can is because I have to be passionate about it. I
have to be.... interested in what I'm working on.... otherwise I get
bored way too quickly and either the vid is never finished, or not done well.
My lack of interest does not mean its not a good idea... only that its not
something I can empathize with or put my heart into.
I'm not a fan of AU (alternate universe) vids. As in slash, or making my own
"story"..... That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy some out there,
nor that I won't ever make one,, only that if I do - it will be a rare occurence.
Got a request - let me know.
What vidders do I recommend?
If a link is on my links page, its because
I love it. Because I frequent that site and respect it and the work presented
there. So, by all means, check them out. Just as reiteration:
Beloved temtpation, Giles
Fan and greensector, EosReia, Here's
Luck, SMGfan2000
(german fanfic site - check out the downloads page), and there's many more
great vidders out there. These are just the ones I can name off the top of
my head. In case you're not already aware - the Buffyverse
Music Video Database is key.
